FRIDAY CAT BLOGGING....Since yesterday was my mother's
birthday, today we have pictures of her cats. (Hey, where do you think
my love of cats came from, anyway?)
On the left is Cadbury, who is convinced she is the most beautiful
cat in the world. And maybe she's right! On the right is....um, Lucy.
She's the little black blob in the very back. Do you see her? Lucy is
a shy cat and I haven't succeeded yet in taking a picture of her.
Bonus cats: John Scalzi has a cute new kitten here, and Henry Farrell has a pair of them here.
"Mental Magpie" Elisabeth Riba has a pair of cats who, like mine, enjoy reading the newspaper.
Also like mine, they appear to simply absorb the news by osmosis, as
opposed to the inefficient "reading" technique that we humans use.
Finally, Ben Longman points us to yet more dressed up Japanese cats. Yikes.

Cadbury appears to be a Siamese cat. I grew up with a Siamese cat -
they are indeed beautiful cats. Just from being around that cat, I came
away with the impression that Siamese cats are "cats with attitude".
My mother did not help with this - she named the cat "Princess
Thai-Ling" (Princess for short) and sometimes called her "Prissy" too. I
think it all went to the cat's head.
That is indeed a beautiful Siamese (or Siamese-type?) cat. John Scalzi's little bit of fluff is incredibly cute, too.
One of my parents' cats, Harpo, has taken the newspaper thing a step further: he simply whacks it out of your hand. Then
he sits on it. Since Harpo weighs in at sixteen pounds, getting the
newspaper back tends to be a lost cause. His mission to prevent his
humans from wearing out their eyes extends to books; as a result,
various dustjackets and backstrips have met tragic ends.
Kevin -- Do your cats watch TV? Mine do sometimes. One of them
really enjoyed the NCAA tournament (except the Jayhawk loss in the
finals; nobody in Kansas enjoyed that).
Meow-TV premiers on Oxygen at 6:30 ET today. The Yahoo article I saw
described the program contents as "cat yoga, cat haiku, with sporadic
video footage of squirrels and fish."
Yoicks. Those dressed-up Japanese cats are quite scary. And the English translation from the Japanese is a hoot.
Well, my cats like to *sleep* in front of the TV. Does that count?
Cadbury is indeed a beauty. And those are some ticked-off Japanese cats!
Whoops, just reread your comments. Same cat different angles. She's the type who wouldn't let me get another cat.

Now there is the internet. And I really appreciate people like you
who take their chance in such an excellent way to give an impression on
certain topics. Thanks for having me here.
